Household Clean Cooking Solutions for Vulnerable Communities
Did you know women can spend up to four hours a day collecting firewood? If families are purchasing fuel, an improved cookstove or fuel that is 30 percent more efficient than a traditional stove can save enough money to send two children to school. The time spent collecting fuel and preparing and cooking food can take hours, a reduction of which can allow women to complete other responsibilities and pursue income-generating opportunities, education, and rest as they choose.

We acknowledge that of the 9.1 million households in Kenya, 1.7 million are in urban areas. We work with low income earners in urban areas supporting them
transition to cleaner fuels and stoves e.g our work in Kawangware

We not only encourage transition in the clean cooking stoves, we also provide the fuels that go with them thus promoting a circular economy. We offer briquettes with the stoves.
Climate action
We support the reduction of carbon footprint through accelerating last-mile adoption of clean cooking solutions to rural and underserved communities.
Life on Land
Through offering alternative cooking solutions, we support the reduction of dependency on wood fuel. This helps to curb deforestation and degradation of
ecosystems.

Household Clean Cooking Solutions for Vulnerable Communities
Lowaki aims to work with Community Health Promoters and Last Mile Entrepreneurs to distribute at least 20,000 clean cooking units annually, improving affordability for vulnerable households. To ensure inclusivity, Community Health Promoters will map and identify vulnerable groups, including child-headed households, widows, widowers, the very poor, and marginalized communities.
